THE BEATLES TAPES - OUTFAKES

When you reach the outer limits of Beatle fandom, you come across a peculiar breed of human who
feels a strange inner compulsion to get his hands on anything the Beatles ever touched. Often the
gullible sort, they tend to accept a rumor that a Beatle had something to do with a record just on the
off-chance that it might prove to be true.In the early days, fly-by-night record companies tried to take advantage of this by subtly (or
sometimes blatanly) implying they were putting out some sort of Beatle record. As the Beatles
became more reclusive in the late 60s, keeping track of all their recorded appearances became
much harder. In some cases people simply guessed wrong, attributing a Beatle presence where
none existed. Stories like that tend to fester, and are still causing ground-less worry among many
collectors.
